Chrome Remote Desktop causes device screen to blank, and device to seemingly hang

Project Member Reported by w...@chromium.org, Apr 8 2018

Issue description

Chrome Version: 67.0.3376.0
OS: ChromeOS (Chromebook Plus)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Run Chrome Remote Desktop.
(2) Connect to a host.

What is the expected result?

Expect that the session is stable.

What happens instead?

After a few seconds the screen goes blank (though I did briefly see it flicker what looked like the screen upside-down, as well). The power light stays on, though. Device has to be hard-reset by holding the power button.

This seems most likely to be a GPU issue, since CRD is just a Chrome App.

There are four "kernel-warning" crash reports listed from the time of the hang: e775d85e57d34282, 9adc2a06a5d70b30, 69f2ecb431351c05, f408e32314773787

Tried this again last night and device didn't hang, so I'm not sure what caused it. The hangs were observed immediately after a reboot to apply firmware update, so perhaps that put things in a weird state?
