Font rendering issues (blurry) with Ubuntu 18.04

Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/65.0.3325.181 Safari/537.36 Example URL: https://cloud.google.com/go/home Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Install Google Chrome (same issues with chromium) on Ubuntu 18.04 2. Go to a website that uses the Roboto web font (e.g. https://cloud.google.com/go/home) 3. Scroll down to the code example as the issues is more visible there What is the expected behavior? I expected the same sharp font rendering as in other browsers or older Ubuntu versions. What went wrong? The font in the code example is somehow a little blurry and is being rendered differently than on previous Ubuntu versions (e.g. 17.10). This does not happen to all fonts and I could only reproduce it with Roboto and Roboto Mono at this time. Does it occur on multiple sites: Yes Is it a problem with a plugin? No Did this work before? N/A Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 65.0.3325.181 Channel: stable OS Version: Ubuntu 18.04 Flash Version: This happens on a freshly installed Ubuntu 18.04 with the exact same font rendering settings (anti-aliasing, slight, rgb). I tried the Chrome version from the dev channel but the problem persisted.

m.s.bednorz@ Thanks for the issue. Tested this issue on Ubuntu 14.04 and 17.10 on the reported version 65.0.3325.181 and the latest M67 67.0.3394.0 build. Unable to test this issue on Ubuntu 18.04 as this setup is not available at TE end. On clicking on the above given link and scrolling to the code example, cannot observe any blurry font. Request Blink>Font team to look into the issue and help in further triaging. Thanks..
