Security: Chrome is frozen by a phishing webpage I was automatically redirected to from a trusted site

I don't know what kind of bug this is and you don't have to pay me. However, when I visited
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/05/books/racist-graffiti-sentenced-read.html?smid=fb-share
the page redirected to
http[://]0as24042808627174981.win/en/?search=%E5%B1-%7DK%C2%93%98%08R.%F3D%98%D8%F9%D2%F1%E3l%2A%2C%87%E5%E8%9F&list=200000

Which is a Phishing scam attack:

It would not let me close the tab or go back. I had to shut down Chrome completely.

Hmm, Now the phishing page shows a 404. 
Hope you don't mind me marking this issue as Won'tFix here since it is not a security vulnerability of Chrome. But I'll forward this information to Safe Browsing group to take a closer look at this page.
