Today, files app takes the current ordering (name, size, type, date) and applies it to every directory you view.

A better experience might be to have files app remember the last ordering applied to a particular directory, and apply it to that directory and all child directories that have not also manually had a new ordering set.

Use case: I like to keep Downloads ordered by "Date Modified" as I usually only care about the most recent file, but I like to keep My Drive ordered by "Name" as the files there are all organized into folders.
