epiphany browser won't install cert (for goma install step) |
|||||
Issue descriptionChrome version: 67.0.3383.0 OS: Chrome (PB) Repro steps: 1. The PB is at work, on Google-A. 2. In the crostini instructions, Chromium Development flow, I ran: epiphany https://storage.cloud.google.com/cxx-compiler-service-releases/ 3. I authenticated via go/sc. Expected: To navigate to the folder of 'goma' releases. Actual: Hit Uberproxy wall. go/uberproxyz is saying 'No certificate detected'. go/croscert says: "The site at http://chrome-extension/(ugly hash)/eventpage.html seems to be unavailable." So epiphany doesn't have that extension, I guess? Or did I take a wrong turn/skip a step?

WAI. go/sc requires certs that we don't allow inside crostini. You need to use a standard Chrome browser window for go/sc and other uberproxyz sites. https://storage.cloud.google.com/cxx-compiler-service-releases/ should still work. Just use Chrome browser window to generate a security code for login.

I think my initial description was a little spartan. Let me try again. I authenticated just fine (using the code I got from go/sc). What failed was the subsequent navigation to the Goma release folder. It gave me the Uberproxy error, saying the machine didn't have a cert. Were you able to give epiphany proper certs? Or is it that they're not needed? IOW, how did you get it to work? thx

hm, I thought I was able to access that without certs in the past but maybe I was wrong. Please use chrome browser to download a recent goma-goobuntu.txz package and copy it to crostini using an sftp mount instead. I'll update the chromium development instructions asap.
