Repro steps:
1. Setup Crostini, install a GUI application, e.g. gedit.
2. Add an input method (e.g. Chinese pinyin) in Settings - Input method.
3. Open gedit in Crostini, and switch on the input method.

Expected: Text from the input method.
Actual: English letters for keys pressed.
