What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Turn on Chromebook during the night (and in the dark) that was last used during daylight hours
What is the expected result?
Be able to type a keyboard combination to quickly enable Night Light mode and reduce brightness to a minimum before eyes are burned by the screen
What happens instead of that?
Struggle to open the lid the tiniest amount while trying to squeeze hand onto the touchpad to locate the Night Light icon with the mouse pointer while simultaneously reducing screen brightness while eyes are being burned by the screen light.
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

Would the brightness up/down keys in the Function key row help in this situation?

Possibly, but previous brightness levels might be eye-buring before the reduction takes effect. This is doubly-exacerbated when powering on from cold as the night light or brightness controls do not kick into the much later stages and by then the blindness damage is done, of course. - Mike |
