Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 10452.30.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/66.0.3359.67 Safari/537.36 Platform: 10452.30.0 (Official Build) beta-channel eve Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Click on time in system tray 2. Watch settings menu pop-up instead of calendar 3. Sigh to self, read the never ending request for this feature on https://www.reddit.com/r/chromeos/ 4. Log issue as there is no votable feature request logging for ChromeOs What is the expected behavior? Not only me, but most of the world want a simple calendar widgit to pup-up. Would be fantastic then to integrate clicking on a specific day to launch into google calendar. What went wrong? The UI does not behave as expected. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 66.0.3359.67 Channel: beta OS Version: 10452.30.0 Flash Version: Seriously, please consider this. It is constantly asked for and would be such a small but huge win for this wonderful operating system.

Thank you for filing this feature request. Assigning this to myself to think about how this might work with the current work on QS and adding sgabriel for context. There is definitely a good use case for having a quickly accessible mini-calendar interface. It’s all about the right balance of triggering area and functionality. I think we can do some smart things here.

I've seen this feature being requested for a long time in different online communities as well as from the users I provide support. I don't think it is ok to dismiss user feedback like that, nor trying to force a workflow on them. Most users just want a quick way to see 'what day number is next Thursday?', 'When is this due date?' I really think it's worth implementing.

Agreed, this is a long requested feature that seems doable in a smart way. Simple QoL request that will continue to be asked for regardless. Thanks in advance.

The amount of times I've gone to click the date for a widget and been disappointed.

Very poor take in Comment 3. This is absolutely logical, necessary UX that is standard in just about every OS.

This is something a lot of people have been wanting so thank you. Comment 3 is just pointless and selfish.

I think it is pointless to even comment on that comment :-) Over 200 people starred this request, the tribe has spoken... It's going to happen, just a matter of when. I have no doubts the guys will come up with something that would make all other alternatives look dated and ugly :-)

If this is something to be thought about, then it should have all the features this extension has and which is more useful than Google calendar itself. Is this also for Chrome browser users ?

That would be great, it is something that I constantly compare with windows and linux of something missing on Chrome OS.

Thank you. This would be a great feature. It's a ubiquitous feature on Windows/Mac/Linux. Thanks!

The transition from Windows to Chrome OS has been fairly smooth, but I severely miss the calendar in its classic lower right corner. If implemented, I would love it to tie-in with Google Calendar as well, please.

I also recently switched from Windows to ChromeOS, and the lack of a calendar widget caused the most friction of any feature (or lack thereof) in my daily OS use patterns. This would be a very welcome feature

Was working on an airplane, had no way to pull up a calendar and check which day something landed on in 2020 without Wifi. Just such a silly little thing to not have; ya'll have all the date/time stuff there, just allow a simple calendar widget, even if it's built into Chrome with about:date or something. Such a pain to have nothing at all, and have to rely on Wifi to check a date.
