MacViewsBrowser: Clicking in Omnibox inconsistently does not select all text

Project Member Reported by rsesek@chromium.org, Mar 30 2018

Issue description

Chrome Version: 67.0.3384.0
OS: macOS 10.13.3

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Go to any page
(2) Click into the Omnibox, and all the text should be selected
(3) Click the background of the page, and the Omnibox text should become un-selected
(4) Repeat steps (2) and (3) repeatedly and randomly/occasionally, clicking into the Omnibox does not select all, and instead the cursor is inserted at the clicked location

What is the expected result?
Clicking into the Omnibox should always select all text.

What happens instead?
Sometimes clicking into the Omnibox does not select all text, and instead the insertion cursor is placed at the clicked location instead.

In the attached screen recording, I can get it to happen 3 times.

Please use labels and text to provide additional information.

(triage response) That looks like expected behavior if one clicks twice. Is it possible that in those rare cases, that's what's happening?
I was considering that, but:

- I do not think I'm clicking twice
- The screen recording has mouse-clicks visible and I do not see a double-click
- I cannot repro this in a Cocoa browser
I have a 100% repro step: While you are clicking into the Omnibox, move the mouse cursor a little bit down.

Ah, thanks for the repro steps in #4. I can reproduce this.

Pls mark the bug as fixed if CL is landed in trunk and nothing else is pending. Thank you.

I wonder if it's related, but since I upgraded Chrome for Linux to 67, clicking the URL no longer selects the whole thing and instead just places a cursor. I keep screwing with addresses instead of starting fresh searches constantly. Unlike the movie above however, this behavior is consistent: the URL is never selected, whereas it always was in versions 1..66.

FYI the recent update to Chrome 67.0.3396.79 fixes this issue for me.
