Unable to reproduce the issue on chrome reported version 65.0.3325.181 using Windows-7 & 10 with steps mentioned below: 1) Launched chrome reported version, from Chrome://settings, signed-in into chrome 2) Logged-in into google and amazon, closed the chrome 3) Relaunched chrome again and able to see account signed-in into google and amazon Note: As ET team doesn't have Windows-8 machine to check and confirm the behaviour of the issue on Windows-8, hence forwarding it to inhouse team further investigation on it. Hence adding TE-NeedsTriageFromHYD label. Thanks!

Some of the info in signin-internals looks strange to me - no info on signin manager started for instance. Not sure how the system should work, but perhaps it can be reset / restarted?

Had this issue previously and solved it with a clean profile. Might want to give that a try.
,
Apr 2 2018
Hmm... How do you do that without losing data - ie affecting other machines on the same account?
,
Apr 2 2018
It would be useful to understand how the signin manager is supposed to work, I can't find any useful info on it...

Tested the issue using #65.0.3325.181 on Win 10 and could not reproduce the issue as per the steps mentioned below. Steps 1) Launched chrome reported version, from Chrome://settings, signed-in into chrome 2) Logged-in into google and amazon, closed the chrome 3) Relaunched chrome again and able to see account signed-in into google and amazon As we already having a existing issue, CC'ing @pwnall and @rdsmith from issue 795827 for further triaging of the issue. Removing Needs-Bisect label for now. Please feel free to add it back of required. Thanks!!

It would still be useful to understand how sign-in manager should work - especially given the odd results it returns.

SigninManager does not manage cookies at all - it just manages the account that is signed in to the browser (the one used for sync). The code is located here: https://cs.chromium.org/chromium/src/components/signin/core/browser/signin_manager.cc?q=signin_manager.cc&sq=package:chromium&l=1

There's no reason to think it has anything to do with cookies. Signin manager just doesn't start - and shows a refresh token date 3 years old! See above... There must be a simple solution for that - some way to unclog signin manager.
,

The refresh token is old, but it is valid (there is no time to live for the refresh token). From your screenshot, Chrome can get access token so the refresh token is valid. gpa@globalnet.co.uk: You say in your bug report "All accounts - including Google - are signed out and requite new login.". Web uses cookie for authentication, so I suspect something is wrong with the cookies. Could you please explain what you mean by "There's no reason to think it has anything to do with cookies." ?

Hi... Thanks for the comments. I didn't suspect cookies, because the signin manager does not start. Screenshots of where it works show an entry for signin manager started, mine doesn't. I don't know what the exact process is but it seemed likely that signin manager should start and then uses cookies, rather than the other way around as it were. But I may well be wrong! That's why I asked how signin manager should work...

mistastevens@gmail.com: Is this only related to Google web properties (e.g. gmail.com) or are you seeing this bug on all websites?

This started happening to me a couple of days ago. Logging me out of my website and everything else. My Chrome version: Version 66.0.3359.139 (Official Build) (64-bit) using Windows 10 Pro. Very aggravating! I discovered that by switching to Canary, the problem went away. Try it! Using this version now: Version 68.0.3424.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit)

I have the same problem since few days now. As today I have Chrome 66. Version 66.0.3359.170 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Windows 10. Sites that I can be sure they are affected : Feedly (https://feedly.com/) and reddit (https://www.reddit.com/). I get logout at least once a day randomly. That's so weird. Didn't change my Chrome install or any extensions since. Using "HTTPS Everywhere", "Nano Adblocker", "Nano Defender", "Reddit Enhancement Suite" (disabled) and "uBlock Origin" (disabled).

It's been happening for a couple of weeks now on my system (OSX 10.13.4), though only for certain sites. It happens constantly on reddit and twitter but never on facebook, for example. That said, the number of affected sites is significantly higher than the number of unaffected ones.

I'm running the currently latest available Chrome 66.0.3359.158 on Android 6.0.1 and am experiencing the same issue. Simply rebooting the tablet (Lenovo TB-X103F) causes cookies to be cleared, local storage seems unaffected. According to my colleagues the clearing can also occur without a reboot in some cases, I have not been able to verify this myself yet though.

This just happened to me today after closing chrome (to save battery power). When I was plugged in and opened chrome again I was logged out of all websites. It was as if cookies have been cleared, but I did no such thing. The "clear browsing data" settings area states I still have "Cookies and other site data From 4,587 sites." It also says "Passwords None" but if I login to passwords.google.com it lists them all there. And says "Autofill form data - 4 addresses, 5,951 other suggestions" but when I try to go to any site, there are no passwords available to prefill the forms. Google Chrome 66.0.3359.181 (Official Build) (64-bit) Revision a10b9cedb40738cb152f8148ddab4891df876959-refs/branch-heads/3359@{#828} OS Mac OS X JavaScript V8 6.6.346.32 User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_4) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/66.0.3359.181 Safari/537.36 Command Line /Applications/Google Chrome.app/Contents/MacOS/Google Chrome --flag-switches-begin --flag-switches-end Executable Path /Applications/Google Chrome.app/Contents/MacOS/Google Chrome

This bug was closed as a duplicate of issue 800414 , which was marked Fixed recently. I suggests you file a new bug if you are hitting similar issues on newer machine and flag them for component "Internals>Network>Cookies". |
