Notifications show over i3lock when using a compositor

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/65.0.3325.181 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Use i3
2. Run Compton
3. Start i3lock
4. Watch as notifications show up on the lockscreen

What is the expected behavior?
Notifications... shouldn't show on the lockscreen.

What went wrong?
I have no idea. If I kill compton before locking the display, notifications dont show up on the display.

Did this work before? No
