hubbe suspects this is a Microsoft regression. I suggested looking at the KBs (windows updates) installed between those dates and reverting them one by one.

It's pri-1 but since it seems to be a windows update, we might not be able to do anything about this besides reaching out to MSFT. cc: strobe, jaik for FYI in case they have Windows contacts we should talk to. I'll forward this to some folks.

Also I suggested checking Edge VP9 support to see if it has also regressed or if it's just us.

The second dashbord link Caleb posted suggests that edge also regressed. Although it's not clear that the regression that Caleb is seeing is actually the same regression as the one I am seeing. I'm currently uninstalling updates on my machine to see if that helps.

2nd link just loads a list of plx queries for me. I also thought we didn't have vp9 + edge in the lab yet?

Try the first link, "chrome media dashboard". Also, you're right, I was looking at edge-h264, which seems to have regressed at the same time.

Marking as ExternalDependency since edge h264 is affected too.
