an ex has installed some sort of root or platform giving access to all my info. please help

ChromeOS offers a secure boot feature that defeats traditional types of rootkit and other malware. It is possible, however, to install malicious apps or extensions that are generally easily removed. Your simplest bet, however, is to simply PowerWash the Chromebook back to its clean factory default settings.
