Thanks for the report. Please follow the below steps for WebView --

In Android N the WebView and Chrome packages were combined in order to reduce the update size for users. Updating Chrome also updates WebView. This means that in the Play store the WebView package will appear to be permanently disabled. The Play store WebView entry is only relevant for users with older operating systems, and users who have decided to disable Chrome.

If you need, or are being asked by an application, to update WebView, the action you should take now is to UPDATE CHROME. This should resolve any issues you are currently experiencing.

We would also like to understand what led you to file this bug so that we can reduce the number of users experiencing this issue and work with application developers to direct users to the correct Play store page.

If an application has directed you to update WebView, and sent you to the WebView page in the Play store to do so, please comment on this bug to tell us which application did so.

Finally, if updating Chrome does not stop the application from redirecting you to the Play store, please also provide that information on this bug.

Thanks!!

Thank you for the fast response. I noticed the Issue whilst "cleaning" my mobile devices and didn't realise the OS 7.0 eliminated the need, and as I was a Beta Tester, I thought it best to alert y'all on case this was a big issue, and am glad it's not so.

Since you inquired about the reason, again I noticed the issue and no Application(s) demonstrated any problems with the App. However; and I don't know if I should open a separate ticket, but the most recent Chrome Update started causing issues: When opening Google Chrome, and whilst using GBoard. When I open the App, it opens, but freeze speed 15-20 seconds and 8:10 a window appears saying: "Chrome/GBoard Stopped Responding.
Followed by three options
Close App
Wait
Send Report

If I'm working I'll try and hit wait so I can finish my email or reading an Article, and in the case of GBoard, it closes and the Samsung Default Keyboard appears. Other times, if I'm not fast enough hitting "Wait or Close" the window remains and my device freezes. The screen doesn't respond, but the Soft Keys do, and many times I'm forced to restart my device. Usually, it reboots and my opened Files and Apps remain. But, it happens daily. I've started using the Samsung Internet Browser and made it default SE, because if it opened into Chrome, same issues appeared. I Love Chrome, but the habitual occurrence happens too often, and in Political Campaign Season, I can't afford dealing with my mobile freezing, resting or executing a Hard Reset, and waiting to reboot whilst in a Public Forum. After rebooting, I wait five minutes before opening ANYTHING, as it feels sluggish and will Freeze again, saying (in a new window) either: Settings Has Stopped, with a Restart Option; Process Server Has Stopped and if quick enough, it won't freeze again; and TouchWiz Has Stopped.

I will send pics if they will help.

Also, and this confuses me, I asked someone about Google Calender, syncing with my other Calendars and across my devices, and they said I need to download the App. I'm not being an arse, but I've the most current version of the App. I check daily. So, I don't know if this helps any, but it's a bit curious. I'm sorry this so verbose, I only want to share as much intel as possible and help you (and anyone else dealing with this/these Issues) locate any patterns or associations behind the behaviours.

Thank you for your time and help. Should I Delete the Android Webview App, and free up Memory, or keep it on my device? Thank you again and Happy Easter to you and your family.

Kindest regards,

PVH
