when we talked with UX about this they wanted the Cocoa-style MD download animations on all Views platforms, not just Mac. sdy@ won't have any cycles to work on this in the near future so I'm assigning it to you for triage :)

Do we have a design spec for this?

Just realized that there's a lot of information on that bug and I should've been more specific. Check out the implementation deck linked from there, which has links to specs which I *believe* are current. There are also a number of screen recordings of the final Mac implementation attached to the bug.

Also, this is potentially a large amount of work. It needs to be prioritized.

My understanding is that there is new work on this that might supersede this design.

we haven't prioritized this work for Q4, but we should verify with design that this is the end goal and not something else.

I'm pushing targets out to next year as I don't believe there are currently resources to work on this.

Let's just not pretend we have a target if we don't have a target.
