Foil Testing : Software Reporter tool version updating to 23.131.2 instead of 27.148.200 in chrome://components. |

Issue descriptionChrome Version:#67.0.3378.0 OS: Win7,8.1 & 10 What steps will reproduce the problem? (1)Install chrome canary. (2)Clean the registory,Log files & Temp folder (3)Start the Chrome Canary with provided cmd lane. (4)Enable the "“Automatically send some system information...." in chrome settings. (5)Navigate to chrome://components and update the Software reporter tool. What is the expected result? Latest version should be updated #27.148.200. What happens instead? Older version #23.131.2 is updating. Please find the screen shot for reference.

The cause should be https://crrev.com/c/965943, which changed the finch parameters used for Foil distribution. I'm going to update the documentation with new params.

Veranika has updated the documentation for generating the command lines for testing, so this issue should be fixed.

Tested the issue on Windows-7,8.1 & 10 using chrome latest canary M67- 67.0.3381.0 by following comment #2 & 3. Observed that foil build updating as expected. Hence adding TE-Verified label. Please find the screen shot for reference. Thank you! |
