Tested this issue on Windows 10 and Mac OS 10.12.6 on the reported version 65.0.3325.162 and the latest Canary 67.0.3378.0 and unable to reproduce the issue by following the below steps.

1. launched Chrome and navigated to youtube.com
2. Can observe that the videos are playing with audio and no issues are observed.
3. Played videos on few other sites like cnn.com, facebook.com, foxnews.com and can hear the audio without any issue.
Attached is the screen cast for reference.

Request you to provide us the exact steps to reproduce the issue.

Also request you to retry on a new chrome profile without any flags/extensions and update the thread with observations.

Any updates on the issue? Even after taking my Pixelbook out of Developer Mode (and wiping it) I'm still having the same issue. Also, the Android apps work fine, but anything "native" to Chrome OS does not work. Crostini also does not produce sound.

I can't think of any possible reason. tsrwebgl@, can you try these actions:
1. reboot machine OR
2. turn off hardware decoding in Chrome://flags
3. if you can, please wipe off the device to manufacturer state.

@tsrwebgl - Do you repro this with current non-beta versions of Chrome?
