Console cleared by certain iframe loads

Reported by dob...@gmail.com, Mar 20 2018

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/65.0.3325.162 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Load attached HTML file in chrome
2. Open developer tools
3. Make sure "preserve log" is enabled in the console tab
4. Reload
5. Notice what messages appear, it should say "test"
6. Disable "preserve log" in the console tab
7. Clear the console
8. Reload
9. Notice whether the "test" message remains visible until the end of the page load.

What is the expected behavior?
The console.log message should be preserved until the next full page reload.

What went wrong?
The console.log message is wiped from the console when the iframe loads.

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 65.0.3325.162 Channel: n/a
OS Version: 10.0
Flash Version:

I feel like this issue surfaced recently but I have no proof.

Probably a duplicate of issue 818209 fixed in Chrome 66.0.3345.0.
Try disabling the experimental "Strict site isolation" in chrome://flags

I was hit by that bug as well.

If you go to https://wordpress.com/log-in which loads the "Google API Client Library for JavaScript" you can see that the console is being cleared out when the lib loads its iframe.

If you enable "Preserve log" then you should see:

It does seem to match issue 818209 , although I don't have "strict site isolation" enabled. Would the fix for that issue still be relevant if I don't have strict site isolation?

Thanks for the report, and commenter #2 for pointing out the duplicate. The `t.html` case you provided is addressed by the fix in crbug.com/818209 so I'm marking as duplicate.

If you still see this issue on Chrome Canary M66+, please let us know.
Thank you so much, woxxom@gmail.com, disabling "Strict site isolation" solved it for me
