Off-screen ads loading cause scrolling |
|
Issue descriptionExample URL: https://arstechnica.com/science/2018/03/here-are-answers-to-a-federal-judges-queries-about-climate-science/ Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Go to an article on arstechnica.com 2. Scroll down past the point where it says "Advertisement" before the ad has loaded, so it's entirely off-screen. 3. Wait for the ad to load, and the content moves around. What is the expected behavior? The page does not scroll. What went wrong? It looks like scroll anchoring failed. Does it occur on multiple sites: Yes Is it a problem with a plugin? No Did this work before? N/A Does this work in other browsers? N/A Chrome version: 65.0.3325.109 Channel: stable OS Version: 8.1.0 Flash Version:

Note that this only seems to occur if the ad is only a little bit above the top of the page (but still clearly off the screen). Possibly there's a difference between when it's being hidden by the banner at the top, and being "actually" off-screen? |
