Bottom toolbar stays when scrolling down on an AMP article

Project Member Reported by ghendel@chromium.org, Mar 19 2018

Issue description

In Chrome Canary, with adaptive toolbar flag enabled

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Enter a search in omnibox that will return AMP articles
(2) Open an AMP article
(3) Scroll down through the article

What is the expected result?
Bottom toolbar should disappear when scrolling down, in order to have more space for full article

What happens instead?
Bottom toolbar persists when scrolling down, making the space allotted to the article smaller

Is this reproducible in Firefox and Safari?
Cc: noyau@chromium.org
Yes it is reproducible on Safari, this is a limitation of the AMP page. We have it in the current version, with the top toolbar not sliding up.

Is there anything we could communicate to AMP about this?
Other issues are lack of pull-to-action and being unable to perform a Find in Page.
I know this is related to the iframe limitations but are there any workarounds we could do on our side?
There is no workaround which can be used in Chrome. The page is fullscreen, which causes toolbar to stay and fullscreen not working. This is something that AMP has to fix by resizing the page to full size. Gabe, could you please file this bug against AMP.

FIP problem is a different issue and is something that we will eventually fix in Chrome.
