Canon D570 Rejects PDFs of version 1.6

The Canon D570 printer seems to reject PDFs of version 1.6 (possibly anything after this?).

The printer was able to successfully print a PDF of version 1.4

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Try to print the attached PDF document using either ipp or ippusb printing

What is the expected result?
The document is printed successfully

What happens instead?
The print job will fail, as the document is rejected by the printer "document-format-error" and the ipp backend will exit with status 5 indicating that the job was cancelled.

I was unable to get the device to print using the PDF by simply changing the magic number at the top of the file, so it seems that there is something in the actual contents of the document which the printer is failing to understand.

I've attached two PDF files for testing purposes:
success1_4.pdf : A PDF of version 1.4 which prints successfully.
failure1_6.pdf : A PDF of version 1.6 which is rejected by the printer.
