Clipboard URL is sometimes not suggested in Omnibox after a period of time

Issue descriptionSteps to reproduce the problem: 1. Copy url to clipboard 2. End browsing session, close chrome 3. Few hours later, open new chrome session incognito window. 4. Tap omnibox What is the expected behavior? Clipboard provider suggests URL in omnibox focus What went wrong? Clipboard url from previous session is not suggested even though it is still in clipboard. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 65.0.3325.109 Channel: stable OS Version: 6.0.1 Flash Version: Copying a new URL gets suggested

Tested the issue using #65.0.3325.109 on Android #6.0.1, #7.0.0 Samsung J7 and S7 and could not reproduce the issue as per the steps mentioned in original comment. Observed Clipboard provider suggests URL in omnibox focus. @13hurdw: Could you please help us with the details of your device for further triaging. Thanks!!

SM-G550 As stated in the title, this only seems to occur sometimes and it is difficult to reproduce (I don't know exactly how to reproduce).

This is working as intended. After a certain period of time, URLs on the clipboard are no longer offered as suggestions. I appreciate that in some circumstances it would be helpful to keep the clipboard suggestion around indefinitely. But we feel that it would often be confusing to show a URL that the user had copied to the clipboard hours ago and may have since forgotten about. |
