STS default speech rate not in middle of slider/no way to revert to default easily |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionGoogle Chrome 67.0.3369.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit) Firmware Version Google_Samus.6300.276.0 Flag enabled: #enable-experimental-accessibility-features Steps to repro: # Launch STS in Accessibility Settings # Open the STS settings # Adjust the speech rate to be slower or faster # Attempt to adjust it back to the default Expected: default is in the middle and/or there's a way to get back to default easily - perhaps a button? Actual: default is actually about 1/4 of the way from the left of the slider. Please see attached screenshot of settings when it's set back to default after adjustment.

From UI review: "RE: slider, it would be great if we could just make the center of the slider the default setting (we can see how the testing team would in particular appreciate this :). That being said, it sounds like this doesn't make sense for this feature, and we need to do a bit of cleanup across sliders in settings (e.g. font size has similar issues with the default not being the center), so this feedback is not blocking." I'm going to mark this closed because the middle of the slider doesn't make sense as default for STS speech rate.

Moving from just having STS label to also having the UI>Accessibility>SelectToSpeak component to make searching easier in the future. |
