Login screen stopped recognizing my password

Issue description

Chrome Version       : 65.0.3325.148
OS Version: 10323.52.0
URLs (if applicable) :

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Logged out of one account
2. Tried to log into another account
Note: it's possible that I wasn't on WiFi yet when this happened, but I'm not sure.

What is the expected result?
I should have been able to log in.

What happens instead of that?
My password was rejected three times.  Then I got a separate window going through the 2 factor authentication process (once the gnubby version for my corp account, another time the 2FA through my Android phone for my personal account) and I was able to log in - but all local data (open tabs, installed Play apps) had been wiped.  I had to re-install the corp certificate when this happened for my corp account.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
