"Selected" omnibar text in iOS doesn't respond to arrow keys |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionSteps to reproduce the problem: On an iPad with Smart Keyboard, open a new tab in Chrome. 2. Tap in the omnibox 3. Type on the smart keyboard "lin manue" 4. Observe that the omnibox shows "lin manu[el miranda]" [indicates blue highlight] 5. Press the right arrow key on the keyboard What is the expected behavior? The highlighted auto complete text, so the omnibar should now read "lin manuel miranda" with the cursor at the end. What went wrong? There is no response to the arrow key. Did this work before? No Chrome version: 65.0.3325.152 Channel: stable OS Version: iOS 11..2.6 Flash Version: This is related to the "fake" selection mechanism that is the root cause of Issue 136291

The following revision refers to this bug: https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src.git/+/dcc70767e29dc300921edcfbf3cbf5b8a2a11019 commit dcc70767e29dc300921edcfbf3cbf5b8a2a11019 Author: stkhapugin@chromium.org <stkhapugin@chromium.org> Date: Thu Mar 22 15:43:52 2018 [iOS] Support arrow keys when displaying inline autocomplete. Adds support for arrows left/right when displaying inline autocomplete. Arrow right accepts the input and moves the cursor to the end of the textfield; arrow left accepts the input and keeps the cursor in the same position - mirroring what desktop does.
