Unpinning bookmark app shortcut leaves it on the shelf in a weird state |
||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: 66 OS: Chrome What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Visit a normal (non-PWA) page. (2) Chrome menu -> (More tools ->) Add to home screen. (3) Close the tab. (4) Click the shelf icon (this re-opens the tab). (5) Right-click the shelf icon -> Unpin. (6) Open launcher. (7) Right-click the app icon -> Remove from Chrome. What is the expected result? Step (5) should remove the pinned icon. What happens instead? Step (5) puts it into an "unpinned" state (the context menu item changes to "Pin"), but the icon remains on the shelf, even if you close all windows. Step (7) removes the app, but the icon remains on the shelf. Clicking the icon does nothing. You can right-click -> Pin, then right-click -> Unpin. Weird state.

Ok I've sent a little bit of time trying to look into this. Since this was file, options inside the "More tools" submenu may have changed (or I'm missing something), there's no "Add to home screen" anymore, but there' s "Create shortcut..." which I assume does the same thing. The dialog that opens then has a checkbox "Open as a window". I assume this should be checked to repro this because otherwise un-pinning the item from the shelf will not leave a "running" app (since it's just a tab in Chrome). However, I'm still unable to reproduce this. After step 7, the (running, unpinned app) icon just disappears from the shelf. If you can still see this, please reopen with clarification. Thanks! |
