Force Enable Zoom setting has no effect on AMP pages served by Google AMP cache |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionSteps: 1. In Chrome on Android, turn on Settings->Accessibility->Force Enable Zoom (override a website's request to prevent zooming in). 2. Visit https://ampbyexample.com/ and unpinch to zoom -- it works 3. Visit the same page in the Google cache https://www.google.com/amp/s/ampbyexample.com/ and unpinch to zoom -- it does not work Websites probably shouldn't be able to prevent zoom in the first place. But, if we are going to allow that, and have a "Force Enable Zoom" setting, then that setting should actually work :) This is a real usability issue. I asked a friend with low vision how well their Android was working for them, and this was their #1 issue as AMP has become much more popular, especially for news sites.

Somehow Observing the same behaviour as mentioned in original comment. Considering this as a feature request and adding appropriate label for further triaging. Please adjust Type label to bug if it's not a feature request Requesting UI>Accessibility team for further triage Thanks!!

This is more of an a11y bug, not a feature request. CC'ing Ted Choc -- Dominic Mazzoni suggested you could help us triage this. Marking confirmed as Sandeep is observing the same behavior.

Issue 771330 is about making touch-action consistent when preventing pinch zoom. I imagine you want issue 821447 which is about touch-action not following the accessibility setting. |
