Browser process takes 9GB of RAM

Issue description

Chrome Version: 64.0.3282.140 (Official Build) (64-bit)
OS: gLinux

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Living in Chrome for 28 days

According to the task manager, the browser process takes 9GB of "memory" (750MB for "memory footprint").

This is most likely a dup of https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=393395#c101. Without heap profiling, we can't tell what's going wrong. Please update to the latest Dev and see if you can still repro.

Thanks, Erik! I don't think I'll be able to run with dev as my daily driver, but I'll let you know whether I can still see the problem on M-65 stable once I've been running that for some time.
