Google Chrome is crashing immediately upon load

Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:58.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/58.0 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Run Chrome via shortcut on desktop 2. 3. What is the expected behavior? Chrome opens. What went wrong? Chrome crashes immediately upon starting. No interaction required, will be on screen for less than a second before crashing without any response. Crashed report ID: No How much crashed? Whole browser Is it a problem with a plugin? N/A Did this work before? Yes Unsure Chrome version: 66.0.3359.22 Channel: dev OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7 SP1) Flash Version: UNSURE Version 66.0.3359.22 according to chrome.exe. I have attached all dumps from this directory: ..\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Crashpad\reports

Can confirm running in compatibility mode as "Windows 7" gets it to open without crashing.

Also confirming, right-clicking chrome.exe and setting the compatibility mode to Windows 7 did get Chrome to open without crashing. Thanks rambo.

I was having the same issue, let my Win10 machine troubleshoot compatibility on its own. It recommended Win8 mode, which seems to be working for now
