[MD Extensions] Multi-column format makes visual scanning hard |
|||
Issue descriptionChrome Version : 65.0.3325.146 URLs (if applicable) : chrome://extensions/ The multi-column format of the MD Extensions page means that scanning extension names requires changing one’s focus both horizontally and vertically. In contrast, the non-MD Extensions page uses more vertical space but allows easy vertical scanning. See attached screenshots depicting the visual scanning path in both the old (non-MD) view and the new (MD) view. Please consider supporting a view that’s more amenable to scanning – for instance, a toggle to switch between the present card-based view and a single-column view.

The search functionality certainly helps, but visual scanning can still be faster than typing. The collapsing behavior also helps, though I’d prefer not to resize my window every time I want to scan through extensions.

+1 list view. For ~30 extensions I have, that would be way more efficient.

@bbaren: Does this bug need to be restricted?

No; that was just the default for Googler-submitted bugs. Please feel free to unrestrict.
