Chromedriver arguments not taken into account

Reported by mars.gir...@gmail.com, Mar 8 2018

Issue description

Chrome Version (from the about:version page): 65.0.3325.146 official, 64 bits
Is this the most recent version:Yes
OS + version:Gnome Ubuntu version 16.04 lts
CPU architecture (32-bit / 64-bit): 64 bits
Window manager:Not sure what youmean but irrelevant anyway
URLs (if relevant):
Behavior in Linux Firefox:NA
Behavior in Windows Chrome (if you have access to it):NA

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1)Automated testing, launching a selenium session with parameters (add_argument --incognito and such)
(2)Chrome opens on any website I ask
(3)That's it

What is the expected result?
I launch my tests with --disable-infobars option, it used to work still on chrome 64

What happens instead?
Now this argument doesn't seem to have any effect

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot
and backtrace if possible.

This issue is out of TE scope of TE as this is related to selenium session. Could someone from dev team please help in triaging this issue. Hence adding TE-NeedsTriageHelp label.

Thanks!
Hi, sorry to insist but how can you tell it's selenium's issue ?
I downgraded to chrome 64 and was able to perform all my tests as usual, then I upgraded back to 65 and again, impossible to conduct my tests.
This notification "Chrome is being controlled by automated test software" appears and no argument passed to chromedriver will make it disappear.
But Selenium's arguments still works, for instance I execute the soft in argument --incognito and it does work !
Hi,
Any news on the issue ?

The --disable-infobars option was removed in Chrome 65, though it was added back in Chrome 66.

The long term plan is still being discussed.
