This has always been the STS behavior since I took over the project. I assume it is on purpose (there's even a comment about it in the code), but will confirm with Laura A and Dominic and re-open if needed.

I think it's useful to silence it when pressing Search. Let's document it.

@lpalmaro, how can we update the STS documentation to include that it can be cancelled with the 'search' key as well as 'ctrl'?

Flipping this bug back to WontFix since the feature itself is working as intended and the documentation portion of the bug is now tracked in https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=822835

Moving from just having STS label to also having the UI>Accessibility>SelectToSpeak component to make searching easier in the future. |
