Select To Speak: keyboard shortcut to turn on feature w/o menus |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionGoogle Chrome 67.0.3363.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit) Firmware Version Google_Samus.6300.276.0 ChromeVox has the shortcut key to turn on: ctrl + alt + z This is a feature request for a similar key combo to turn on the STS feature. Note that this is different from invoking STS on selected speech, this feature request would be the equivalent of toggling the feature on and off in Accessibility Settings.

I'm not sure a keyboard shortcut is needed, because a user can leave STS on in the background always and just use it when they want it. Unlike Chromevox, STS does not change normal interaction with the Chromebook, so it shouldn't be a problem to enable it just once (rather than toggling it frequently). @leberly, does that sound OK to you? Please re-open if you think a shortcut is still important.

Moving from just having STS label to also having the UI>Accessibility>SelectToSpeak component to make searching easier in the future. |
