Omnibox inline Auto-complete displays end of long strings ...

Chrome Version: 66.0.3359.10
Pixel 2, Android 8.1.0

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Go to google.com
(2) Enter VR
(3) Select the Omnibox and type "h"

What is the expected result?
A long https://... url will appear and auto-complete will select it.
The Omnibox should show the h with the cursor just after and the remaining visible text highlighted.

What happens instead?
The beginning of the string is shifted out of view leaving only the end of the highlighted string.

After some exploring, this isn't going to be a trivial fix.  I think this should be deferred to MVP-Next.
