pasting from pwsafe does not work anymore

Reported by instanth...@gmail.com, Mar 6 2018

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/64.0.3282.186 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. add some login credentials to pwsafe
2. pwsafe -up mysite
3. middle click to paste username into some input field of a website

What is the expected behavior?
username is pasted

What went wrong?
password is pasted

Somehow chromium tries to read the username twice out of the paste buffer so pwsafe already puts the password in it

Did this work before? Yes don't know exactly - last time it worked was probably in fall 2017

Chrome version: 64.0.3282.186 Channel: stable
OS Version: 4.15.6-1-ARCH
Flash Version:

Thanks for filing the issue!

@Reporter: Could you please share a sample test file which helps us to triage the issue in a better way. Any further inputs from your end may help us.
Not sure if I can write such an automated test.
I would need a method to simulate a middle click for pasting into a form field.
Is there already test code for that?

Otherwise I could help doing a manual bisect. Is there a place where I can download linux releases with compliled chromium binaries?

Additional info:
Works in Firefox 58.0.2

Tried checking the issue on reported chrome version 64.0.3282.186 using Ubuntu 14.04 with the below mentioned steps.
1. Launched Chrome
2. Navigated to https://pwsafe.org/
3. Downloaded the file from https://www.fosshub.com/Password-Safe.html
After downloading the file we are unable to launch it. Even after multiple clicks it stayed without any response.

@Reporter: As per comment#4 providing the links to download the chromium builds and to bisect the issue. Please find the links below.
For Build downloading: https://commondatastorage.googleapis.com/chromium-browser-snapshots/index.html
For Bisecting: https://www.chromium.org/developers/bisect-builds-py
Please write back for any clarification.

Note: Tentatively adding component Blink>Editing>Paste, please change it this doesn't suite.

Thanks!
Seems there are multiple packages out there with the name pwsafe. I'm sorry.

The one I'm using is this one:
https://github.com/nsd20463/pwsafe

The description sais: "commandline tool compatible with Counterpane's Passwordsafe". This is a reference to the application you mentioned. So it could be that Password-Safe has the same bug.

I'm using the package from the Arch Linux AUR Repository which should use the latest git version from 20170908.

Thanks for the Links, will look into that.
