Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_3) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/64.0.3282.168 YaBrowser/18.3.1.533 (beta) Yowser/2.5 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Run the browser and wait for a while till some of components is updated. 2. a) To reproduce it quickly you need to have an browser profile with obsolete components, for example Subresource Filter. 2. b) Start the browser with desired profile and open the internal page Components entering the special URL "chrome://components". 2. c) Press on the button "Check for update" corresponding to an obsolete component. If a component is updated you should see "Status - Component updated" above the button. 3. Open the Task Manager - Chromium. What is the expected behavior? There should not be running process "Utility: Patch Service" after updates are finished. What went wrong? There is the running process "Utility: Patch Service". The process never stops till the browser exits, corresponding service memory is not freed. Did this work before? No Chrome version: 64.0.3282.168 Channel: stable OS Version: OS X 10.13.3 Flash Version: The bug is applicable to all platforms: Linux, Mac and Windows.

I am afraid this fix will be available starting from the version 67.0.xxxx.xxx, not earlier. I do not know about plans to backport it into the nearest next version 66.0.

so for now theres no fix for this? is this a bug? im a little bit paranoid that this process can harm my desktop PC is it fine to let it ignore for now? sorry to bother you about this but i need peace of mind :(
,

You can ignore it. This bug is not critical. Chromium updates its components on the fly and forgets to stop the Utility Patch Service process. It is idle and does nothing, consumes no battery energy. Please do not worry about it, the bug is harmless.
