Add Russian to spell checker list 2. You'll get Street names in Russian even if you're not from Russia and don't ask for Russian in Street View. What is the expected behavior? The streets name should be either in English or in French, but definitely not in Russian. What went wrong? I get the street name in Russian, see screenshot. The way to get rid of Russian street names in France is to remove Russian from the spell checker list in Chrome. No Russian in spelling, no Russian in Street view. Does it occur on multiple sites: No Is it a problem with a plugin? No Did this work before? No Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 66.0.3355.0 Channel: dev OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version: I paid attention than in Street View in France (but not in Germany) I get street names in Russian despite that my Chrome's UI and my OS are in English and my IP is not from Russia or former USSR. In Google Maps link there is also flag for English: «hl=en». The only reference to Russian is a spellchecker, where Russian appears in a list of languages. But since when and why configuration of a spellchecker list influences on a Street View functionality and specifies which language should be used to provide the information? BTW, Russian in my spellchecker list even doesn't appear on a first place, but at the end of the list. michel.budnyatsky@ Thanks for the issue. Able to reproduce the issue on Windows 10, Mac OS 10.12.6 and Ubuntu 14.04 on the latest Canary 67.0.3361.0 and Stable 64.0.3282.186 by following the steps given above. On adding Russian to the spell check list and navigating to the above URL, can observe that the street names are shown in Russian language. Attached is the screen cast for reference. This is a Non-Regression issue as this behavior is observed from M60 Chrome builds. Hence marking this as Untriaged for further updates from Dev. Thanks..

What do you see when you click on Languages? I'm guessing that your accept language list has Russian in it.

This is WAI. What you're calling the "spellchecker" is actually your language preference list which is used to generate the accept language header. It tells browsers what languages you prefer. You can modify that list by going to chrome://settings/languages.

Thanks for the clarification. I actually changed languages settings in Chrome, now the order is: EN, DE, RU, but street view names still appears in Russian, although Russian is just in place #3 in the priority list (see screenshot). Also, one more argument that it is a bug, rather than a feature, is that such behaviour can be observed not on every Google Street view location.
