Issue description
Chrome Version: 66.0.3358.0 (Official Build) Revision16fdb6c5f5d6e5779983e253b5f7c8bdd1cac610-refs/heads/master@{#539998}(64-bit)
OS: Mac OS X(10.12.6,10.13.1,10.13.4)
What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Launch chrome, Navigate to chrome://settings/help
(2) Now drag Google Chrome logo image to 'Search settings' search box and observe
Actual: Image url is not seen after dragging Google Chrome logo image to 'Search settings' search box
Expected: Image url is should be seen after dragging Google Chrome logo image to 'Search settings' search box
This is a Non-regression issue seen from M-60 series build #60.0.3072.0
Note:
1. Issue is also seen on Stable (build #64.0.3282.186),M-65 Beta (build # 65.0.3325.106) and M-66 Dev (build #66.0.3355.0)
2. This issue is not seen on Windows (7,8,8.1,10) and Linux (14.04 LTS) OS

[mac triage] Looks like a general issue with web content text fields on Mac.

Hmmm, I was going to say that this might be due to how we populate the clipboard differently on MacOS due to expectations of native apps... but we apparently lost the mac-specific logic in a refactor back in December?

Test results on Chrome canary (M70): * Dragging the image to the Search text field does not work (nothing happens) * Dragging the image to the address bar yields the image URL (chrome://theme/current-channel-logo@2x) * Copying some text to the search box and address bar works (the text is copied) |
