Tested on latest Canary #67.0.3362.0 on Samsung S7 Android 6.0.1 and Samsung J7 Android 7.0.0 and not able to reproduce the issue by following the below steps:

Prerequisites: Enable "Simplified View" from Chrome Settings >> Accessibility.

Steps Followed:
1. Launched the Chrome Browser.
2. Navigate to the URL: https://www.dobreprogramy.pl/Trzy-nowe-iPhoney-X-moga-sprawic-ze-to-bedzie-swietny-rok-dla-Apple,News,86417.html
3. Scroll the page by a bit.
4. Tap on "Show simplified view" option.
5. Observed that, image in the page gets loaded only once.

images are loaded from network once for "main" page / non simplified view and later they seems to be loaded again from network with simplified view. They should be loaded from network once.

pnangunoori@, I haven't tried, but I guess you'll need to be on a slower network for this to be more visible.

Generally speaking, extra image loading in the distilled view can happen if the images are lazily/dynamically loaded. If they are static multi-resolution images specified in srcset or <figures>, the same one should be picked in the distilled view.

wychen@ -- Tested on slower 2G network but didn't notice any weird behavior and it behaved similar to the screen cast attached in Comment #3.

I can reproduce this on Chrome Stable 69.0.3497.100.
