Simplified view seems to load the same images second time |
||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionDevice name:s7 From "Settings > About Chrome" Application version:66.0.3356.0 Operating system:7 URLs (if applicable):https://www.dobreprogramy.pl/Trzy-nowe-iPhoney-X-moga-sprawic-ze-to-bedzie-swietny-rok-dla-Apple,News,86417.html Steps to reproduce: (1)enable simplified view in settings\accessbility (2)open url (3)scroll a little page & click "show simplified view" We've got the same replication steps like for https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=816870, but it's not duplicate - it seems to be visible, that the same URLs are loaded second time (more network traffic)

Tested on latest Canary #67.0.3362.0 on Samsung S7 Android 6.0.1 and Samsung J7 Android 7.0.0 and not able to reproduce the issue by following the below steps: Prerequisites: Enable "Simplified View" from Chrome Settings >> Accessibility. Steps Followed: 1. Launched the Chrome Browser. 2. Navigate to the URL: https://www.dobreprogramy.pl/Trzy-nowe-iPhoney-X-moga-sprawic-ze-to-bedzie-swietny-rok-dla-Apple,News,86417.html 3. Scroll the page by a bit. 4. Tap on "Show simplified view" option. 5. Observed that, image in the page gets loaded only once. marcin@ -- Thanks for reporting the issue. Please let us know if we have missed anything. Could you please verify by resetting all the flags to default in chrome://flags. Could you also please verify by updating your Canary to latest version #67.0.3362.0 Attached the screen cast for reference. Thanks in advance!

images are loaded from network once for "main" page / non simplified view and later they seems to be loaded again from network with simplified view. They should be loaded from network once.

pnangunoori@, I haven't tried, but I guess you'll need to be on a slower network for this to be more visible. Generally speaking, extra image loading in the distilled view can happen if the images are lazily/dynamically loaded. If they are static multi-resolution images specified in srcset or <figures>, the same one should be picked in the distilled view.

wychen@ -- Tested on slower 2G network but didn't notice any weird behavior and it behaved similar to the screen cast attached in Comment #3. Thanks!
