What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Set up a DLA tile link to point to webvr.info/samples/03-vr-presentation.html
(2) Enter Daydream Home in VR and click on the tile 
(3) Once the linked VR presentation starts, remove device from headset.
(4) Press the x and the settings buttons at the top of the screen.

What is the expected result? The buttons should operate.  

What happens instead? Clicking on the buttons have no effect at all. They don't operate.

This used to work. It only occurs from a DLA presentation.
