Issue descriptionApp Version: 66.0.3356.0 canary iOS Version: 11.2.6 Device : iPhone 7+ Pre-condition : 1- Enable #slim-navigation-manager from chrome flags Steps to reproduce : 1. Launch chrome. 2. Tap on Menu > Tap on newtab Observed results: White patch is displayed for few seconds. Expected results: NTP should be displayed while opening a newtab Number of times you were able to reproduce: 3/5 Bug reproducible after clean install: Yes Bug reproducible after clearing cache and cookies: Yes Bug reproducible on Chrome Mobile on Android: NA Bug reproducible on Dolphin/Safari/Firefox: Safari : NA Bug reproducible on current stable build (App Version, iOS Version): NA, New flag implementation. This is a result of #slim-navigation-manager. NTP is implemented by loading first a blank page in web view, upon its completion, native view is triggered. The first blank load is the cause of this behavior.

Verified on chrome beta version 68.0.3440.40, following the steps mentioned in comment #0. White blank screen is not displayed on both iPhones and iPads. Looks good. Devices: iPhone 8 plus, iPhone 6s plus, iPhone 7 plus, iPad 2018 iOS: 11.4.1 beta 3, 12.0 beta 2, 10.3.3 |
