Add coordinates to crosshair screenshot tool

Project Member Reported by jennschen@chromium.org, Feb 27 2018

Issue description

Would be nice to have coordinates accompanying the crosshair screenshot tool to make it more useful. Adding to UI team's backlog.

Additionally, the current crosshair image is 2 pixels thick, so it's not clear what its center is.

MacOS crooshair is 1 pixel thick, and the pixel in the center is transparent so you know you're pointing to the right pixel/color.

Crosshair icon as been change to what's attached in another bug. Might take time to get it depending on your version.

That's looking much nicer!

One question about the 2x one, where is the center? Top-left or bottom-right?

I'm just realising that I may be the only person using doing pixel perfect screen captures 🤓

I'd have to check with implementation to know where they put the hot spot. I'm not quite sure :)

Eng on this should be pretty easy. Let's bump it up and try to get it done in the next few milestones. I suspect someone on kaznacheev@'s team would be a good eng owner.

Needs a PM owner though to drive through the various launch reviews. omrilio@ any thoughts here?
If eng is pretty easy, it could definitely be nice to have.
Sebastien, if there's appetite on your side, I think we can define something simple here and get it through UI review.

My thoughts are along the lines of:
Start showing the coordinates in relation to the starting position on the opposite corner. If we reach an area of the screen where the text cannot be displayed (e.g. bottom right edge), adjust coordinates position and possibly style.

We could extend this beyond for the starting coordinates, but I can't think of strong use cases beyond allowing the user to measure how many pixels without taking a screenshot or to start from the exact same location for all screenshots.

Thoughts?
