Entering VR browser in portrait mode rotates view

Project Member Reported by bsheedy@chromium.org, Feb 26 2018

Issue description

If the VR browser is entered while the phone is in portrait mode, the view will be rotated 90 degrees such that only one eye viewport is actually drawn on the screen. The attached image shows this.

This is easily fixed by rotating the phone into landscape. However, what's strange is that this fix seems to be permanent - the issue is reproducible multiple times if the phone is never rotated into landscape, but stops reproducing once it's been in landscape at least once until Chrome is reinstalled.

This on O MR1 by any chance?
Yep, a Pixel 2 with OPM1.171019.011 (O MR1). I haven't tried with any other devices/OSes.
