Issue description
Chrome Version: 66.0.3355.0 (Official Build) Revision31d0bb0369f909177f2ce90b439f296bcf9c90cb-refs/heads/master@{#539001}(64-bit)
OS: Windows (7,8,8.1,10),Linux (14.04 LTS),Mac OS X(10.12.6,10.13.1,10.13.4)
What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Launch chrome, Navigate to chrome://downloads/
(2) Now right click on page and select 'Save As' option to save page
(3) Now drag downloaded file (Chrome internal pages) from download history list to open in new tab and observe
Actual: Blank page is seen after dragging url to open in New tab
Expected: Blank page should not be seen after dragging url to open in New tab
This is a Non-regression issue seen from M-60 series build #60.0.3072.0
Note:
1. Issue is also seen on Stable (build #64.0.3282.186),M-65 Beta (build # 65.0.3325.88) and M-66 Dev (build #66.0.3350.0)

This is expected. The only change we could make is not allowing the user to save chrome://downloads in the first place. It's WebUI so it's using APIs that won't work when opened from a normal file path without the chrome:// scheme. Closing as wont fix for now. If people feel strongly we can reopen and look at removing the save as feature. Although on current stable it looks like it saves as an mhtml file which does open to some degree. |
