Abnormal page layout about float

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/64.0.3282.167 Safari/537.36

Example URL:
http://www.ssc.net.cn/index.aspx

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open the url: http://www.ssc.net.cn/index.aspx
2. Watch the webpage

What is the expected behavior?
Webpage shows normal

What went wrong?
Webpage shows not normal

Does it occur on multiple sites: N/A

Is it a problem with a plugin? No 

Did this work before? N/A 

Does this work in other browsers? Yes

Chrome version: 64.0.3282.167  Channel: stable
OS Version: 10.0
Flash Version: 28.0.0.161

I wrote a simple html: https://jsfiddle.net/7rsru53w/, the result is similar.

Able to reproduce the issue on Windows 10, Mac OS 10.12.6 and Ubuntu 14.04 on the latest Canary 66.0.3355.0 and Stable 64.0.3282.186.

On loading the page provided in the original comment, can observe that text boxes are not aligned correctly.
Attached is the screen shotfor reference.

This is a Non-Regression issue as this behavior is observed from M60 Chrome builds. 
Hence marking this as Untriaged for further updates from Dev.

The line is float left and the select happens to just fit next to it in Chrome due to the font uses and the defaults for the select element.
This is worked as intended (even though it is clearly not working as *expected* for this particular site).
Adding clear: left to the div containing the select element fixes this and ensures consistent rendering in all browsers.
