Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:58.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/58.0 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Initiate an inline extension install 2. Click cancel 3. Log the errorMessage in the failureCallback What is the expected behavior? As documented here: https://developer.chrome.com/extensions/webstore#type-ErrorCode the errorMessage should be "userCanceled". What went wrong? Sometimes it's "userCanceled" as documented, sometimes it's "userCancelled" (i.e. the BE spelling). Did this work before? N/A Does this work in other browsers? N/A Chrome version: 64.0.3282.167 Channel: stable OS Version: Ubuntu 17.10. Flash Version: I don't know what exact circumstances this depends on. I was running the exact same code on two different stacks and each of them produced one of the spellings consistently. Changing the browser language did not seem to affect this.

Thanks for filing the issue! Checked the issue on reported chrome version 64.0.3282.167 using Ubuntu 14.04 with the below mentioned steps. 1. Launched Chrome and opened webstore. 2. Tried installing an extension. We could not get any option to cancel the download and to check the issue. @Reporter: Could you please share a sample extension/file which helps us to triage the issue in a better way.

@vamshi as the title implies this happens for an _inline_ install, not in the webstore, as e.g. shown here: https://info.ecosia.org/ You won't see an issue there either though, as we already work around the bug by checking for both "userCanceled" and "userCancelled". At the very least this should be documented.
