Reported by 010pi...@gmail.com, Feb 21 2018

Issue description

ENVIRONMENT and STATS
For syncing clients:
From chrome://version, please provide the OS and Chrome build number.
From about:sync, copy/paste the tab contents here, or select the Data tab
and click [Dump sync events to text].

> Google chrome

REPRO STEPS
Please describe the sequence of steps to reproduce the problem.
> Login to multiple gmail accounts in google chrome
> Open google hangout chrome app for each of them
> Send email to any chat using google hangout chrome app using the user account which was used to login 2nd. (This user account will have id 1 in the url)
> Once image is sent to chat, click on that image to view.
> By clicking the image it will open image in google chrome window but gives 404 file not found error

ACTUAL RESULTS
What you are experiencing.
> I am getting 404 file not found error
> If I change the url to select user 1 (2nd logged in user) then it will show the image as the image was sent to hangout chat using 2nd user
> The url below:
https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/albums/photo_id
should be like this
https://plus.google.com/u/1/photos/albums/photo_id

EXPECTED RESULTS
What you expected to happen.
> Google chrome should automatically detect which user shared image and go to relevant url and show the image instead of giving 404 file not found error

ADDITIONAL INFO
Anything else which may help us debug the issue; screenshots of error
messages or states are always helpful.

It's not entirely clear to me what the problem is, since the repro steps are a bit unclear, but it doesn't seem to be a problem with Chrome.

In the 3rd/4th repro step, are you actually sending an image, or a URL? If an image, then this seems to be a problem with Hangouts. If a URL, then it's not a problem at all. Chrome will not (and can not) re-write URLs in a chat app that isn't even part of Chrome.
