MD Extensions: Runtime warnings only shown in card, but not details.

Issue description

Repro steps:

1) Install (unpacked) the extension attached at https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=800773#c21.
2) Wait for about 30 seconds.
3) Observer error.

Expected: Error should be surfaced both in the card, and in the details page.

Actual: Error only surfaced in the card.
