Restoring a session should put windows on their previous Mac Desktops/Spaces

Reported by philf...@gmail.com, Feb 19 2018

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_3) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/64.0.3282.167 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. In macOS, create multiple Desktops/Spaces (https://support.apple.com/kb/PH25574?locale=en_US)
2. Move a Chrome window to each Desktop/Space
3. Quit Chrome
4. Open Chrome

What is the expected behavior?
The previous session state should be restored: each window/tab should be reopened in the same size/position and on the same Desktop/Space as it was in before.

What went wrong?
The windows/tabs are opened, however they are all opened in the current/primary Desktop/Space, rather than their original locations.

Did this work before? No

Chrome version: 64.0.3282.167 Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.13.3
Flash Version:

It's common in macOS to use each Desktop (Space) for different purposes. e.g. I use "Desktop 2" for a specific project (and always want 1 specific Chrome window there), etc.

Currently every time I restart Chrome I have to manually reposition multiple Chrome windows across several different Desktops.

Unable to reproduce this issue on reported version 64.0.3282.167 using Mac 10.13.3 with steps mentioned below. Attaching screencast for reference.

1. Opened 64.0.3282.167 -- Its is in desktop-2
2. Now Moved it to desktop-3 , Quit chrome and re-opened again -- Observed chrome in desktop-3 only.

@Reporter: Could you please check the video and let us know if we miss anything. This would help in further triaging of the issue.

Thanks!

@sindu - It looks like you only opened ONE window and put it in ONE space. What I meant in step two is that you need to have MULTIPLE windows distributed among MULTIPLE spaces.

When quitting & restarting Chrome the problem is all the windows open in your active space rather than having each window open in their original (different) spaces.

Looks like this was a duplicate though - sorry. I was searching for "Desktops" rather than "space".
