Non consistent download pages naming |
||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionDevice name:s7 From "Settings > About Chrome" Application version:canary 66.0.3349.0 Operating system:7 URLs (if applicable):chip.pl 1. open Chrome with normal interface 2. open chip.pl few times 3. use Download link from chip.pl from list of last pages 4. open chip.pl and use Download functionality from it (user is redirected to www.chip.pl and download is done with this url) It looks, that we need unification and consistency -> entry from point 3 is sometimes using chip.pl, sometimes www.chip.pl URL and Chrome is confused

Tested the issue in Android and could not reproduce the issue. The page is navigating with www.chip.pl. Steps Followed: 1. Launch the Chrome Browser. 2. Navigated to chip.pl 3. The page opened as www.chip.pl 4. Downloaded the page 5. Observed the page downloaded as www.chip.pl Chrome versions tested: 66.0.3350.0(Canary) OS: Android 6.0.1 Android Devices: Samsung S7 Requesting Downloads team for further triaging of the issue. Thanks!!

This is P2P Sharing being accidentally enabled for one release of Canary. We have fixed it back to be behind the flag, thanks for your patience! Assigning this bug to Oflfine so we can verify/fix before enabling.

Currently we should be naming the file for the offline page after the title of the web page. So, if the web page has a title "CHIP" that is what we will name the file, "CHIP.mhtml" When I tried to repro this, while on the offline page, the "download" arrow is disabled, so I didn't see the bug. It is possible I have misunderstood the repro steps somehow. marcin, if you want to re-try the repro, please turn on the following flag (it was accidentally enabled the day you found the bug, but is disabled now) "Enables offline pages to be shared".

the problem behind is that sometimes page was created with redirection in name, sometimes without. I was downloading it few times and it happened at least once, not very precise 100% replication steps. Your change probably will resolve it, thx |
